FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
What products do you use for your artwork?
I use various drawings tools, all with professional grade qualities. This includes graphite pencils, coloured pencils with acid-free pigments and excellent lightfastness ratings. I also use high-quality acid free paper with superior archival characteristics.
How long does it take to complete an artwork?
The time taken to complete each piece varies and depends on things such as the size, medium used and complexity. It can take anywhere from a week to a month or more.
What does the artwork look like?
My website shop provides a description of each artwork for sale including its dimensions, and images to offer a view of how the artwork looks. Please note that while every attempt has been made to ensure the accuracy of the photographs, there may be slight variation between the images and the real artwork.
If you are interested in purchasing artwork but are unsure on its specifications, please contact me and I will be happy to share more details with you.
Can I purchase artwork framed?
No. Currently, all original artwork and prints are sold unframed.
What does gsm mean?
The gsm for each artwork refers to the weight in ‘grams per square meter’. The higher the gsm, the heavier the paper.
LIMITED EDITION PRINTS
The Limited Edition prints available in my shop are fine art (Giclée) prints produced professionally.
They are created using high resolution, state of the art flat-bed scanning technology (the only one of its kind in Australia), fully colour matched so it matches as close as possible to the original, and then printed with museum grade ink on smooth white 100% cotton rag acid free paper heavyweight paper. (Prints include a blank 40mm white border).
Each print is signed and numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Limited Edition prints are a print on demand service. No guarantee is given regarding the timeframe for print and delivery. If you would like to find out more about possible timeframes please contact me via email info@candaceslager.com.
Every attempt has been made to produce prints that are similar in colour and clarity to the original, however, slight variations may be present.
It is recommended that prints be handled in the same manner as an original artwork – see 'Maintenance and Care' below.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE
The highest quality materials have been used in the production of my original artwork. The following are recommended to enhance and protect the artwork from damage:
- Frame the artwork as soon as you can after receiving it.
- When framing, window ‘matting’ is highly recommended as it creates a gap between the artwork and the glass preventing any rubbing between surfaces or moisture that could eventually cause damage.
- Additional protection can be provided by using museum grade/UV protective glass. A framing professional can assist you with the best options.
- Consider a wall position that is out of direct sunlight, and away from moist areas that may attract dust or mould.
- Keep your artwork away from hazards such as liquids and heat.
- Ensure any materials that come into contact with your artwork are acid free to avoid yellowing and fading.
It is recommended that you select your frame after the artwork has been received so that you can select a colour scheme that is right for you.
